The History of Tregelberg

Tregelberg German shepherds are a small kennels based on the outskirts of Nottingham  It is a fairly rural part of Nottinghamshire with many open views .

  How we began

I met my husband Don in 1968, after a short engagement we were married in January 1969

   ERKO AND BOSUN

In 1970 our first Kc registered pup arrived, ( Aulkemhurst Rudy ) he was Sired by 'Erko V. Haus Babbilon' out of ' Tanfield Helena', and was from the first Uk litter to be born from this breeding line. This was when I became actively involved in the breed.

I joined an obedience club run by Charlie Wynt,  (Heelaway )

ALONG CAME TWO MORE DOGS ( well ....I needed pups to train )

A short while later the show side of the breed was to become more appealing , and meant another night training at an all breeds ring craft club at Ramsgate.

In 1978 my husband Don had a life changing accident and due to the extent of his head injury the future looked bleak. There were many adjustments to be made, but the dogs kept me going.

In 1985 we moved to Nottinghamshire along with our 'entourage of....... 7 Gsds'.

In 1985 was the year when Rosetown Rejoyce  and Rosetown Jack came into our lives.

Then 1987 saw Kelnik Fergus at 4mths arrive at the Frizel household.

Fergus later went on to be Champion Kelnik Fergus .

A NEW BEGINNING FOR TREGELBERG GERMAN SHEPHERDS

During my time in this wonderful breed, I met a lady who has become a very special friend in my life, always there to lend a hand and someone who would give me her last penny, this friend never asks for anything in return for the many times she's been there for me and the dogs. This friend has been actively involved in the breed for many years and has held her own affix  ' Hazelmead .'   This special friend is Brenda Plummer.

Earlier this year 2003 we decided to unite our experience and love of the breed and now 'Tregelberg Gsds' is our joint venture, we already share several dogs and Brenda is now a joint holder of the Tregelberg affix and a great future is anticipated.

Over the years we have seen many  'partnerships' fall apart for one reason or another. Our involvement is based on simple beliefs,  for our personal gains?....No for the love and welfare of our very special breed. Therefore we refer to our joint venture as a 'friendship' not a partnership. Although we are both passionate with regard to the dogs, it has and always will be an hobby for us both to enjoy.

Brenda has purchased a large collection of Gsd records from Marie Henshaw and now provides custom pedigrees and stud cards. Your dogs details may be included within these records, if you would like further details or a price for producing pedigrees for your puppies or a stud card please EMAIL Brenda.
